WHERE’S TANA TORAJA?
Tana Toraja is located in South Sulawesi Province and can be access via Makassar City, the capital of South Sulawesi province which is also the 4th biggest city in Indonesia. Makassar can be visit either with Flight or PELNI Ships from major cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Jogjakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Manado, Palu, Jayapura, Timika, Sorong and others. From Makassar, entering Toraja can be reach by Air and Land.
By Land : Just one hour flight from Bali to Makassar Airport then by land transport with scenery drive-trip that takes about 8 hours to get into Toraja Land. By Air : Susi Air serves three flights per week from and to Makasar which is on every Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flight leaves Makasar at 10.30am and arrive in Toraja at 11.30am and return at 12.30am with arrival time in Makasar at 13.30pm.
By Sea : There are regularly scheduled PELNI cruiser get into Makassar harbour from all major cities of Indonesia. Then take a drive or flight to get into Toraja Land also known as “The Land of The Heavenly Kings”.
